For owners and buyers, from the first message to completion.
- Every owner is checked
Before a home is shown to buyers, the owner uploads proof, such as a council tax bill, and our team checks it by hand. A home that fails the check is never shown.
- Your address stays private
Buyers see a home at postcode level only. The exact address is shared only when the owner chooses to share it with a particular buyer, for example to arrange a viewing.
- Code names, not real names
Everyone talks through Homeflit using a code name, such as Amber Wren. Your real name, email and phone number are never shown to other people.
- Photos are checked
A person checks an owner's first photos before they appear, later photos are screened automatically, and anything showing people, number plates or personal details is taken down.
- We never hold your money
Homeflit never asks for or holds deposits or sale money. Money changes hands only through solicitors or conveyancers when a sale completes.
- Funds checked badges
Buyers can upload a mortgage agreement in principle or proof of funds. Once we have checked it, owners see a Funds checked badge on that buyer's offers.
- Reporting and removal
Anyone can report a listing, and you can tell us about any message. We review every report, and we can pause any account that misuses Homeflit.
Staying safe: six simple rules
- Keep talking through Homeflit until you are ready to proceed. Messages there are tied to a checked home.
- Never send money to an owner or a buyer. Deposits and the purchase price go through solicitors only.
- Homeflit will never ask for your password or bank details by email or message.
- For a viewing, bring someone with you, or let someone know where you are going and when.
- An offer is not binding until contracts are exchanged through solicitors, so neither side is committed until then.
- If something feels wrong, stop, and tell us at hello@homeflit.com.
Your data
We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising cookies. Proof of ownership and identity documents are seen only by you and our checking team. You can download or delete your account at any time from your account settings. The Privacy Notice has the detail.
Where our information comes from
Sale prices are from HM Land Registry price paid data, energy ratings from the government's Energy Performance Certificate register, and place names from Ordnance Survey open data. Prices on Homeflit are a guide, not a valuation.
